Steidley & Neal’s Complex Litigation Team has been involved in diverse areas of complex litigation that include class action defense; significant commercial and contract litigation; construction litigation and fraud and bad faith matters. The Steidley & Neal firm has attorneys and paralegals familiar with Summation software for the management of document-intensive matters and is fully staffed to handle the most complex legal issues. Members of our firm are also called upon to review trial transcripts and the record of trials handled by other firms in the Midwest for purposes of advising clients as to the likelihood of appellate success.

The Steidley & Neal firm’s strengths when it comes to class actions begin with the extensive knowledge that we bring to the fight of the day-to-day workings of our clients.

Steidley & Neal litigators have built up a great deal of experience in opposing plaintiffs’ motions for class certification – a key threshold battle in any class action.  We have also developed cost-effective approaches to managing the large volumes of documents and complex data involved in most class actions. Our lawyers know how to find and work with expert witnesses.  We are ready to litigate zealously to the very last witness at trial if that is what our clients want, but we are also prepared, if the facts and business decisions call for it, to assist in seeking a mediated solution.  Cost control is a major focus in all the class actions defended by the Steidley & Neal firm. We prepare litigation budgets and communicate frequently with clients to avoid surprises and keep the client in control of the case financially.  Our goal in all aspects of class-action defense, as in the rest of our litigation practice, is to work creatively and boldly, but also efficiently, to accomplish our client’s business goals.
