Robert Taylor was born in Tahlequah and grew up in Wagoner, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma State University, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree. Mr. Taylor began his legal career in 1977 after graduating from the University of Tulsa College of Law. For the first ten years of his practice, Mr. Taylor worked with legendary insurance defense attorneys Richard Gibbon and Dan Rogers. In 1987 he joined the defense firm of Knowles & King which eventually became Taylor, Ryan, Minton & VanDalsem. Mr. Taylor is now honored to have joined the firm of Steidley & Neal.
In his career as a trial lawyer, Mr. Taylor has been lead counsel in more than 200 civil jury trial and several felony jury trials. In the field of personal and bodily injury, he has handled and tried cases arising from automobile accidents, premises liability, products liability, aircraft accidents, negligence, intentional acts, and wrongful death. In the area of commercial and property litigation, he has handled cases involving construction issues, contract disputes, breach of warranty, land use planning, environmental issues, nuisance, interference with property rights/and damage to property. As an insurance defense attorney, he has handled insurance coverage issues and bad faith litigation. Mr. Taylor is active in the field of professional liability including the defense of attorney malpractice claims.
